– Celebrate Christmas in the Peak District
After the lockdown period of 2020, we know that a lot of people are thinking ahead to Christmas and wanting to make the most of time with loved ones this year.
We are delighted to have opened up bookings for the festive season incorporating Christmas Day and New Year's Eve.
Our festive menu will start from Friday, November 27, 2020 and is perfect for families and friends to come together and dine throughout late November and the whole of December.
For those who book early before 31st October, 2020 we will throw in a glass of fizz to really set the festive mood.
Our Christmas Menus
Christmas 2020 is our chance to show off a bit and we have no shame in admitting that!
Head chef Adrian and I have been working hard with the team on deciding what makes the cut when it comes to our festive menus.
This will be our first festive period since taking on The Maynard and we know you are expecting great things from us.
We can't wait to show you what we have in store!
Our friends at New Close Farm, the Ginger Butchers will be on hand providing their succulent turkey breast to make the world's greatest traditional Christmas dinner.
Expect the tastiest fresh vegetable accompaniments including braised red cabbage, Brussels sprouts, maple glazed carrots, goose fat roast herb potatoes, sausage meat and cranberry stuffing, pigs in blankets and our famous homemade gravy.
A Decadent Christmas in Derbyshire
There will be beef wellington with dauphinoise potatoes in red wine and blackberry jus. For those who adore fish, you will love our light monkfish fillet with crayfish and saffron risotto, lime beurre blanc and purple sprouting broccoli.
Understanding the shift towards vegetarian and vegan options has given us a chance to perfect our plant-based Christmas menu. We are delighted to offer our vegetarian diners two options on our festive menu, one of which; the slow-roasted heritage beetroot and butternut squash risotto with crispy sage, is vegan.
No Christmas meal would be complete without decadent desserts and we have well and truly delivered with our traditional Christmas pudding with brandy butter and pistachio ice cream. We're really excited about the flavour combinations of our mint and basil panna cotta with cognac infused cherries or perhaps we could tempt you with the comforting taste of a pear, rhubarb, blackberry and almond crumble served with blood orange ice cream.
New Year's Eve at The Maynard
Join us on New Year's Eve for a sophisticated party to see out 2020 and welcome 2021 in.
With a smart and formal dress code, we want you to dig out those party clothes that gathered dust in your wardrobe these last few months and join us for an indulgent celebration.
With exceptional food and drink coupled with live entertainment, bring your friends and family to celebrate New Year's Eve in the Peak District.
Why not make a full night of it and stay over in one of our newly refurbished hotel bedrooms?
Keeping You Safe at Christmas
At the time of writing (September 2020) Government guidelines state that only two households may sit at the same table with no more than 6 people.
We will be adhering to strict Government guidelines that we know may change before the festive period.
Whatever happens with the guidelines, you can rest assured that my team and I have your comfort and safety at the heart of everything we do.
At present, we are looking to book larger family groups into our ballroom on separate tables, sticking to the two households per table rule.
We are taking bookings for the festive period including Christmas Day and New Year's Eve now.
Bookings require a deposit of £10pp for the festive menu and £20pp for Christmas Day and New Year's Eve and must be paid to secure the booking.
We expect bookings for Christmas 2020 at The Maynard to go fast so to ensure you avoid disappointment, call us to book on 01433 424110.
