July has been a month of significant dates for the UK, with summer finally arriving (welcome, what took you so long?), and bringing with it the hottest day of 2021 so far.
Oh, and we should mention the small milestone in the COVID calendar which came accompanied with, to be frank, more new vocabulary to learn!
With the so-called ‘Freedom Day’ upon us, and the uprising of the ‘pingdemic’, we’re sure you’ll be wondering what this means for visiting The Maynard – you know, all the important stuff.
So, what’s Boris said now, and how will it affect your Maynard experience? (In the words of Rishi Sunak at a press conference – “Thanks PM!”)
We love seeing your happy faces now that face coverings aren’t compulsory. Of course, it’s your choice, but we’d prefer it if you continue to wear one for the safety of our team and other guests, unless you’re outdoors, eating, drinking or sitting at your table. Our staff will still be doing so, but rest assured there’s a smile under there!
For the tactile among you, you’ll be delighted to know that you can hug again! With social distancing no longer being mandatory, we can also serve you at the bar but ask that once you’ve been served, you move away to make space for other thirsty guests. Speaking of distance, we’ve decided to keep the extra space between dining tables for comfort and safety, and let’s be honest, it feels much more relaxed that way!
It’s time to arrange those long overdue celebrations, so contact us to start re-booking your belated parties and postponed weddings – we won’t even stop you singing or dancing!
Whilst nobody wants to be ‘pinged’, we respectfully ask that you don’t visit us if you’ve been told to isolate – don’t worry, we’ll still be here with your favourite food and drink afterwards!
You’ll still see the usual abundance of hand sanitiser stations throughout the venue, as well as deeper cleaning procedures between visitors – you’ll leave feeling more spotless than when you arrived!
Despite the excitement around restrictions being lifted, we’re still committed to keeping you safe and understand that some are still apprehensive. Luckily, our team are super friendly and will go out of their way to make your visit memorable for all the right reasons!
So, when you’ve managed to pull the kids away from the paddling pool, interrupt their school holiday time (how dare you?!) and gather the family for a countryside escape, we’ll be ready to welcome you whether it’s for a refreshing lunch or a longer summertime staycation.
If you have any questions about our new COVID measures, or would like to plan your next visit, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01433 424110.
