New Menu at The Maynard

New Menu as We Reopen Following Refurbishment at The Maynard

We can't wait for The Maynard to reopen at midday on Friday, February 3rd. Following the refurbishment of the restaurant, we thought it only fitting to refurb the menu too!

Executive chef for Longbow Bars and Restaurants, Adrian Gagea, along with Maynard head chef Greg Robinson, have been hard at work getting their culinary creative talents together.

We hope you will agree that our latest menu is the best ever as we take the food and the ambience at The Maynard to the next level.

Our best of British menu also brings a twist of world flavours.

Highlights include the homemade three-pie taster plate. Sample the three best Maynard pie flavours on one plate; rich steak and ale, ham hock and Shepherd’s pie. Of course, it's served with proper gravy alongside bubble and squeak potato.

World Flavours

The Japanese starter plate Japanese plate with miso ramen, crab and ginger spring roll, sweet chilli prawn, salmon nigiri and wasabi mousse is a must-try.

The coq-au-vin has proved a hit in initial tasting sessions within the team. Whole poussin is slow cooked with bacon lardons, baby onions, carrots, parsnips, garlic and thyme, in a red wine jus with a spring onion and new potato tart.

One to sample swiftly is the cappuccino chocolate mousse served with clotted cream, Tia Maria cream with hazelnut nougatine cubes. As these are handmade every day by our incredible pastry chef, Sophie, you'll need to get your orders in quick as we expect these to sell out every day.

Always Local, Always Fresh and Always Gluten Free Where Possible

At The Maynard and our sister restaurant and hotel, The George Hathersage, we are committed to using the very best in local suppliers from across the Peak District and Derbyshire. (See our full list of suppliers here).

We believe in keeping the journey from field to farm to fork as close as possible and we invest in local produce for the good of the local economy, the good of local farming but most importantly for us, the unrivalled and exceptional taste that this fresh produce yields.

As everything is made from scratch daily by our talented team, we are able to make our dishes gluten free where possible. look for the ‘GF’ (gluten-free) or GFa (gluten-free option available) against the dishes on our menu.

If you have food allergies or are vegan and vegetarian, we also offer a range of dishes to suit your dietary requirements. Look for ‘V’ (vegetarian) and ‘Ve’ (vegan) against the dishes on our menu.

When it comes to little ones, our same standard of produce is cooked from scratch for younger diners meaning we are a popular family choice looking for healthy, tasty and fresh local food.
