The Maynard & The George Honoured at Prestigious Awards
It was a bonanza night of celebration at the recent Derbyshire and Peak District Tourism Awards.

This award celebrates teams of any size in the tourism sector whose combined skills have notably made an outstanding contribution to a positive change of success of one organisation. Recognising the team that demonstrates that their collective attitudes have resulted in remarkable improvement or growth of the service, product or experience.
The Maynard were crowned the overall Gold winners with judges commenting; 'Through teamwork and an inspiring can-do attitude, The Maynard team has achieved glowing reviews, helping to put their business truly on the map for quality weddings and delivering outstanding growth for the business. The team are evidently valued and clearly love what they do!'
Gold – Unsung Hero – Soraya Ferrer, The Maynard
This award recognises an individual working for s tourism business who excels in their role and deserves to be applauded for their work and commitment to the industry.
The judges said, ' Soraya ticks all the boxes. Despite joining the business just before the pandemic, she has delivered record results, used innovative marketing techniques to reach potential customers all over the world, taken the opportunity to develop her skills with a design course as well as providing 'impeccable' customer service. This application makes it clear that Soraya is loved by both her colleagues and wedding clients. She is an inspiration to her colleagues and is helping to drive the business forward. Great job Soraya.'
Gold – Tourism Young Achiever – Josh Butler
This award recognises and celebrates young people aged 16-25 in the tourism, leisure and hospitality industry who demonstrate commitment to developing personal skills and knowledge in order to progress their career within the industry.
Judges said, 'Due to his energy, passion and enthusiasm, Josh is an invaluable member of his team, demonstrating how hard work and dedication can lead to inspiring career progression.
He obviously lives and breathes Longbow and is such a valuable asset to the business. Being so young and showing such flair and maturity will take him a long way in his career – definitely one to watch in the future.
