Promising to be one of the most joyful afternoons of the summer, this new event for 2025 sees the unique acoustic vintage trio, Grumpah, perform an uplifting and unforgettable set live in the lush gardens with summery cocktails, canapes and a mouth-watering meal in the Chatsworth Suite.
A Feel-Good, Family-Friendly Celebration
Grumpah is a unique vintage band known for roaming through crowds, raising spirits, and putting their own retro twist on modern tunes. If you haven’t seen this talented trio perform live yet, you are in for a treat! Incorporating elements of steampunk, they’ll flow between Gershwin to Lady Gaga using versatile instruments without the need for electricity. It means they can entertain you as they roam through the gardens and be your musical accompaniment when you sit down for dinner in The Chatsworth Suite.
Our talented bar team will be on hand to mix up a delightful summer array of cocktails for you to enjoy in the sunshine. We’re always on hand to recommend a great beer from our wide selection of local and international beers or a perfect glass of wine from our hand-selected wine list.
The itinerary
1.00pm: Arrival for drinks in The Chatsworth gardens
1.30pm: Canapes served and Grumpah to play in the gardens
2.30pm: Delicious dinner in The Chatsworth Suite
3.45pm: Grumpah perform again
5.30pm: Event finish

THE MENU
Enjoy a two-course menu, curated by Group Executive Chef, Adrian Gagea who trained under Raymond Blanc. Featuring the best produce from local Peak District farms and producers, Adrian and the team have worked hard to create a delicious menu bursting with summer flavours.
THE CANAPES
- Chive & parmesan arancini (VEA GF)
- Smoked salmon and fennel brioche with dill emulsion (GFA)
- Ham hock terrine on a ciabatta croute with confit grape and piccalilli (GFA)
- Duck leg bon bon with spiced tomato chutney (GF)
After the opening set and canapes in the garden, you’ll move into the Chatsworth Suite to enjoy your main course and dessert.
THE MAIN COURSES
- Pork fillet with salt baked pineapple, spinach, pak choi and pomme fondant with a pork & pineapple jus (GF)
- BBQ hispi cabbage with courgette, aubergine & tomato ragu, mange tout and quinoa with a coriander & lime dressing (VE GF)
- Herb crust cod loin, buttered samphire, spring onion, smoked eel rosti with a dill velouté (GF)
THE DESSERTS
- Raspberry parfait with white chocolate, meringue, summer berries with a raspberry sorbet (GF V)
- Salt-baked pineapple with passionfruit and mango salsa, and a coconut espuma with mango sorbet (VE GF)
Then it’s back outside (or dancing indoors – your choice!) for a final set from Grumpah to round off the day with a proper summer send-off.
