South African Wine Discovery
30th April | Hosted by Louis Boutinot of Waterkloof Wines
This April, The Maynard is delighted to host a special wine tasting evening celebrating the wines of South Africa, guided by Louis Boutinot of Waterkloof Wines.
Part of a carefully curated spring wine series, this event offers a relaxed and engaging opportunity to explore one of the world’s most exciting wine-producing countries.
Why South Africa?
South Africa’s wines are defined by contrast and character. Cooling ocean breezes, dramatic landscapes, and ancient soils produce wines that balance freshness, structure, and elegance.
From vibrant whites to expressive, age-worthy reds, these wines speak clearly of place and reflect a winemaking culture rooted in both tradition and innovation.
Hosted by Louis Boutinot
We are thrilled to welcome Louis Boutinot, owner of the acclaimed Waterkloof Wines.
Overlooking False Bay, Waterkloof is renowned for its biodynamic approach and its focus on producing wines of purity and precision.
Louis will guide guests through the tasting, sharing insights into South Africa’s regions, grape varieties, and the story behind Waterkloof itself.
