This April, Derbyshire native and seasoned West End performer Tom Pearce and fellow theatre professional Tim Walton bring a truly special evening to the Peak District. Together, they present Musicals at The Maynard – a spectacular dinner cabaret experience, featuring outstanding West End performers celebrating some of musical theatre’s most iconic songs.

With decades of experience between them, Tom and Tim are at the heart of the event, hosting and shaping an evening designed to recreate the excitement, humour and intimacy of the West End in a relaxed and welcoming setting at The Maynard.

Hosted in The Maynard’s elegant Chatsworth Suite, this is far more than a performance – it’s a full evening experience. Between musical numbers, audiences will hear personal stories, backstage secrets and theatrical banter, offering a rare insight into the journeys behind some of the industry’s most celebrated productions.

Meet the Stars of the Show 💫

Tom Pearce

Derbyshire-born Tom Pearce began his theatrical journey with Bakewell Youth Theatre before joining the National Youth Music Theatre. He went on to perform in major productions including Guys and DollsLes MisérablesChildren of EdenPrivates on ParadeEyam, and the national tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, where he played Jesus of Nazareth.

Alongside his stage career, Tom has become one of the industry’s most respected session singers, contributing vocals to more than 400 film soundtracks and recording with artists including Adele, Robbie Williams, Katherine Jenkins, Take That, Russell Watson and II Divo. Now working primarily as a conductor, he recently conducted soundtracks for Planet of the Apes and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and runs Vocals Unlimited, supplying singers for major film, television and recording projects worldwide.

Tim Walton

Tim Walton began his professional career in South Africa, appearing in productions such as West Side Story and The King and I, before establishing an extensive West End career.

His credits include Starlight ExpressMamma Mia! (original cast), The Witches of Eastwick (original cast), South PacificTonight’s the Night (original cast), The Woman in WhiteWicked (original cast), Love Never Dies (original cast), Matilda (original cast), Kiss Me, KateCity of Angels and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Stephen Ward.

More recently, Tim has appeared in Rags and Passion with Hope Mill Theatre, A Little Night Music at Buxton Festival. He has just returned from Paris performing as Victor Garber in the hit musical Titanique and is currently appearing in the West End production at the Criterion Theatre, making his appearance at The Maynard particularly special.

Jean McGlynn

Irish singer, theatre maker and arts facilitator Jean McGlynn trained at Mountview Academy in London before building an impressive West End career performing in The Beautiful GameThe Witches of EastwickSouth Pacific and Les Misérables.

Her work has seen her collaborate with renowned theatre figures including Andrew Lloyd Webber, Cameron Mackintosh and Trevor Nunn. Alongside performing, Jean has worked extensively with organisations such as the Royal National Theatre and Pineapple Dance Studios.

Since returning to Ireland, she has become artistic director of Frontline Stage School while continuing to create original theatre works and lead arts projects across the country. Most recently, she served as production designer for Lime Tree Theatre’s pantomimes Aladdin (2023) and Rapunzel (2024).

Sarah Eyden

Internationally acclaimed soprano Sarah Eyden is one of the UK’s leading session singers, specialising in orchestral and film music.

She began her career touring worldwide with The Swingle Singers, performing at iconic venues including Carnegie Hall, La Scala and the Royal Albert Hall. Since then, she has appeared on more than 450 film soundtracks, including Star WarsHarry PotterLord of the RingsSpectreThe Hunger Games and Pirates of the Caribbean.

As a soloist, Sarah performs orchestral programmes across the UK and regularly sings jazz repertoire with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra Big Band. Her broadcast work includes BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3 and a solo debut at the BBC Proms.

Stephen Ashfield

Award-winning Scottish actor and musician Stephen Ashfield trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Best known for his Olivier Award-winning performance as Elder McKinley in The Book of Mormon in both the West End and Broadway, Stephen has enjoyed an extensive stage and screen career. He recently appeared alongside Angelina Jolie in the Academy Award-nominated film Maria and created the role of Hamish McLarnon in Becoming Nancy in both the United States and the UK.

His many theatre credits include Jersey BoysLegally BlondeFameTabooStarter for 10 and Dracapella, alongside television appearances in Call the Midwife and The Devil’s Hour.
