EXCEPTIONALLY SIMPLE DINING
The ethos behind our menus is simple: it must be local, fresh, accessible and food that our guests would want to enjoy with us. Our Head Chef, Adrian Gagea, has worked hard in designing menus to suit all diets and dietary requirements. We have numerous options for guests, which include healthier eating options and plant based diets.
Managing Director, Rob Hattersley, is coeliac, so we have adapted many of our dishes to be naturally gluten free without impacting the flavours and textures to those who aren’t. As all of our food is created fresh in house, we can be completely adaptable to any requests that you may have.
Start your day the right way! Bringing all varieties of the most important daily meal to your plate. Go for the hearty full English or opt for a lighter option such as buckwheat pancakes with seasonal berries.
From 12pm everyday, our main menu offers diversity for all needs and occasions. Indulge on a Saturday night with fillet steak and chocolate brownie or visit for convenience for soup and sausage & mash on a Monday. Our menu covers it all.
Running alongside our main menu, on a Sunday we pay homage to ‘the roast’ and don’t do it by halves. Sirloin of beef, loin of pork or roast chicken all accompanied with duck fat roasted potatoes, hearty Yorkshire puddings and proper rich red wine gravy.
We want you to #enjoymore at The Maynard and our afternoon tea selection features both our Classic Afternoon tea menu and our savoury Gentleman’s Afternoon tea menu too.
The Maynard’s family friendly restaurant welcomes children of all ages. Our menu provides all those treats of eating out but also incorporates healthy eating. We have even made the menu interactive to keep the little people entertained.
We’re as passionate about drinks as we are food. Our wine list has been carefully selected by Hattersley Wines from Bakewell. We hero fantastic local gins and soft drinks from Franklin & Sons. Our local cask and draught range change frequently. Ask our friendly bar staff for their recommendations.
Join us for a mulled wine and mince pie by the fire, accompanied by great food and efficient service to celebrate this special time of year. Put up your feet and let us do the hard work.
We take all food allergens and intolerances very seriously. All of our food is prepared on site and menu items can be adapted to cater for most allergens. If you have an allergy or intolerance, please speak to a team member before you order food or drink.
