"We were let down by a hotel in Bakewell upon arrival and luckily The Maynard had availability so we booked rooms at the last minute. We could not have had a better experience at The Maynard - from speaking on the phone whilst checking availability, the check in experience with welcoming staff, the quality of the food and the service in the restaurant through to the beautiful rooms and great breakfast. Would absolutely recommend staying here and would love to return for longer next time."
"A stunningly beautiful hotel. 5 stars!! We stayed for the meet the maker event, We were made to feel very welcome and the bedroom was gorgeous and had everything you needed. The young waiter at the event was friendly and chatty. Thank you for a lovely evening. We will be back."
"What an absolutely beautiful hotel in a stunning location. The staff where extremely friendly and helpful when we needed to sort a medical problem out. The room was so comfortable and cosy. The dining experience was also excellent. Delicious food, offering a very good gluten free selection."
"This is the second occasion that we have stayed at The Mayland, returning because we enjoyed it so much the first time. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and efficient. We can thoroughly recommend the restaurant and we really enjoyed exploring and sampling the menu. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our room was located on the second floor and it was amazing pulling back the curtains and taking in the beautiful vista across the valley. We love walking and didn’t use our car very much as there is a wealth of footpaths accessible from the hotel door. Climbing up through the wood and walking along White Edge, then returning along Curbar Edge and Froggatt Edge was awe inspiring. We really liked the new loyalty app, a great idea. We will return again soon."
"We stayed at the Maynard for 3 nights as we had planned day trip to Manchester. The train station is a 10 min walk from the hotel with an hour into Manchester. The breakfast choice is vast and extremely tasty. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We had one meal at the hotel which was great too. This was our 3rd stay at this hotel so we would recommend a stay here. Thank you to all the staff."
