On Thursday 16th October 2025, The Maynard in Grindleford will transform into a 1960s crime scene for an immersive Murder Mystery Dinner that puts you in the heart of the action.

As you dine on a delicious three-course menu, actors will bring the mystery to life — revealing secrets, scandals and plenty of clues. Will you be the one to solve it?

The Year is 1965, and the nation is undergoing a cultural revolution. But, as much as peace and love, flower power, and teenagers dancing along to the Beatles can give the impression all is picture perfect, there is still seediness that lurks amongst the shadows. Crime is rife in the Capital, and corrupt coppers & lawyers hide amongst the law, it makes criminal-gotten gains ripe for the picking…that is if you’re brave enough to chance it.

One such chancer was Michael Wilson, a petty criminal known to have links to the Ronnie & Reggie Kray, who spent last night sat in a cell at Rodney Road Police Station, to prevent any chance of fleeing before his trial. Michael was suspected of involvement in intercepting a transfer of over half a million in travellers’ cheques making their way from Coutts Bank 6 weeks ago. It seems everyone else has been tight-lipped on the matter, but was Michael the one willing to squeal to save his skin?

With the goods still missing, plenty of eyes are on Michael from both sides of the law. Surely the safest place for him would be behind a locked cell door? Think again, as morning comes for Michael, he is discovered murdered in his cell! With half a million at play, was this a murder for money? Or perhaps a motive more personal is lurking beneath it all.
