With only a matter of days until we open the doors to The George, we’re bringing you an exclusive preview of what to expect when you step into the narrative and help us write a new chapter in its story.

We’re chuffed to bits to announce our latest event at The Maynard – pictures in the peaks! Our gorgeous gardens are the perfect setting to get cosy under a blanket, watch the sun set over the Peak District and settle in front of the big screen for a family-friendly film night.

Well, where do I begin? It’s been some time since my last update, but that’s not because there’s been nothing to say – in fact, it’s quite the opposite, so buckle up and brace yourself… you’re in for a wild ride with this one.

July has been a month of significant dates for the UK, with summer finally arriving (welcome, what took you so long?), and bringing with it the hottest day of 2021 so far.

Oh, and we should mention the small milestone in the COVID calendar which came accompanied with, to be frank, more new vocabulary to learn!

For many of our two and four-legged regulars, our beloved pooch George, also known as ‘Lord of the Manor’, is a familiar face around The Maynard.

Whilst our floppy-eared best friend is remarkably adept at winning the hearts of our visitors, there’s also a new George in town to bid for your affections!
